The Issues

What makes a good sheriff?

Dan’s Message

For 24 years, I have worked tirelessly at the State House as the State Representative from the First Berkshire District to bring programs and money back to the North Berkshire community. I have been involved in the areas of public safety, job training, education, and have served on the House budget committee. I want to bring this experience and these skills to the Sheriff’s office. I feel passionately about this job and Berkshire County and I know that I can make a difference; a difference to the inmates who need training and supervision in order to keep from returning and make them better community citizens, a difference to our neighbors who are worried about crime, and a difference in our local communities struggling to save money and provide services. I believe that my plan of security, rehabilitation and re-entry makes us more secure and saves us money. I want to work with communities to make a difference in our lives and quality of life.

Debate In Pittsfield

Dan squared off with Tom Bowler, his opponent in the Democratic Primary, in August 16 in Pittsfield. Bowler had home field advantage, but Dan clearly came out on top. Watch some highlights, or view the entire debate and judge for yourself.
